Baden is a small town, just west of Kitchener/Waterloo. It was founded in 1855 and is home to around 6,000 people. It is the second largest community in the township of Wilmot, second only to the neighbouring town of New Hamburg.
Baden is a rapidly growing community, with its population set to double in the next ten years. There is such a great need in Baden, and we believe God has called us to begin to fill that need.
"Introducing the hope of the Gospel into the heart of our community and the homes of its people."
1..Introducing the hope of the Gospel...
The message that we have been called to share in Baden is one of hope - in spite of our sin, God sent us a saviour. Our mission is rooted in that hope, and its power to transform the lives of the people in our community.
Eph.. 2:4-5; 1 Cor. 2:1-2; Rom. 6:23; Jn. 3:16
2. Into the heart of our community...
Baden is a town with a strong sense of community. We want to be an active part of that community by showing the love of Christ in how we care for our neighbours and invest in the life of our town.
Titus 3:1-2; Matt. 5:16; Phil. 4:4-5; Jn. 13:34-35
3. And the homes of its people...
This transformation starts with intentional individual relationships. We believe in raising up spiritual leaders within our community who will join us in living on mission in Baden.
We are Nathan and Elaine Kapteyn. We were married in August 2020 and from the beginning we've had a passion to serve the Lord together in the local church.
We have a heart for small town ministry and since getting married God has led us on an amazing journey towards church planting. We both have a special love for the Wilmot area and we are so thankful and excited to be planting a new church in Baden.
Imagine the transformation that could take place in Baden if we began to introduce the hope of the Gospel into the heart of the community and the homes of its people...
Imagine a community where...
The Gospel begins to impact the way the community functions.
As the community grows, people feel welcomed by the warmth and love of Christ through the church.
That are built and strengthened through the power of the Gospel.
Where members of all ages are deeply invested in and discipled.
Imagine a church...
That is known for its love and investment in the community and its people.
That is established as a trusted pillar within the community.
Our prayer is to see the Gospel spread throughout Baden and transform our community and the lives of the people who live there.
As we seek to live on mission together, our core values show what we believe God has called us to, and how our mission is reflected in the life of our church.
If you group your elements together they'll stay together in mobile view
We believe that we are called to build our church on the foundation of the Gospel and teach people how the Gospel impacts every aspect of their lives.
We believe that we are called to be deeply invested in our community through building authentic relationships and sharing the Gospel with our neighbours.
We believe that we are called to be a multiplying church. We are committed to training leaders to go out and plant churches throughout our township and beyond.
We believe the best way for us to care for our community, and build deep relationships, is through opening our homes and our lives to the people of Baden.
We believe that we are called by Christ to make disciples and train up faithful leaders and Christ followers within our church and our community.
Our strategy to reach the community of Baden is focused on meeting the people of our town where they are, through partnerships in community events, inviting people into our homes and lives through missional communities, and regular Sunday services.
